Green LEDs

I have the TrackIR 5 and while it works well most of the time, it frequently will loose it's center and start "looking" all over the place. What exactly do those green LEDs indicate? When it is intermittent, the left hand green LED is off or flickering. It doesn't seem to matter which sim I am playing, it just randomly does it for no apparent reason. It even does it in the TrackIR program. I make sure there is nothing interfering with the IR signal and the reflectors are in place on the hat clip. I use to have the TrackIR plugged into a USB hub. I plugged it directly into an open USB port but it still does it. Anyone else have this problem and maybe know what to do about it?

Hello -

The left hand green LED indicates that the TrackIR software is running and that it's tracking you. This should be steady on in most cases.
The right hand green LED indicates that a TrackIR enabled game is running. It should only be steady green when playing a game.
Both LEDs will flash amber if the TrackIR is paused.

If the left LED is flashing, it's likely because you are experiencing issues with interference or poor tracking. To remedy this, open the TrackIR software, right click on the heads up display graph, and select "Camera View". This will show you exactly what the camera is seeing. In this view, tracked objects (there should be three, correlating with the markers on your clip) will appear green, and untracked objects will appear red. If you take a screenshot of this we can take a look at it and better explain what is happening.
