Hello,

I read one topic and people say that 6 cameras is minimum to get good facial motion capture but I saw this video on youtube and they say that recommended number of FS cameras for facial capture is one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MA7MbwK2 ... re=related
Is that possible?

Can I get facial capture as good as this with only one camera and FaceRobot?

Thank you

Hi skobot22

What they are referring to here is that they are recommending having 1 of these FS cameras as part of your "6" or "7" camera configurations, so you can see and record a simultaneous video stream of what you are capturing. (actually, you can have more than 1)

Unfortunately It is not possible to capture that type of quality with a single camera.. (although a lot of what you are seeing is not a function of the mocap system but of the facial capabilities of Softimage)

The suggested use is a minimum of 6 motion capture cameras and one scene video camera. The reason for this is due to the large potential for occlusion of markers as you turn your head left to right. The 6th motion capture camera does go a long way in detecting the position of a number of facial markers.
