I've had TrackIR for my flying games now for a year or so. When it works it's a joy to have, when it doesn't, it drives me crazy. Every time I go to use it, I expect to have to tweak something.(the Track Clip Pro has moved when I set down the headphones, or the cat has bumped the camera) I adjust them, and hit the F12 key to center. But as soon as I move my head, it all goes wonky. Pitch (up and down) is usually pretty good, but Yaw (side-to-side) wallows all over the place. The slightest turn of my head to the left sends the view reeling off into the upper left quadrant, while movement to the right drops way down into the bottom right quadrant. Again, sometimes, the whole 360 degree sphere is visible. Sometimes just part of it because I'm inside it, sometimes I'm outside. What drives me crazy is that when it works I don't know what I did right, and when it doesn't, I don't know how to solve the problem. I adjust the Track Clip Pro, fiddle with the camera, move my seat, adjusted the flat screen monitor it sits on, turned off all lights in the room and I�m using a profile a sent friend me.(which worked great for a while) I even went into Control Panel and deleted the TrackIR 4 software assuming that there might be a conflict. (tho' I guess not. Nothing changed.) Any suggestions will be warmly appreciated. I did a screen capture of this, but see no way to attach an image.

Just updated software to 5.1 No change.

When operating the TrackIR, do you see four red lights inside the camera lens?

Hi Mike: Yes, I do see the four red lights. There have been some developments since I first posted. I have been getting notices lately from my C:\ drive saying that there are not enough resources and things have shut down. Wondering if this could have a bearing on my problem, I uninstalled TrackIR, and re-installed from the 4.1 disc, then updated to the current version. But I can't get a full install on the J:\. It wants to install to C:\ Natural Point\ TrackIR 4. Usually, you can type in, or amend this path. But not here. 'Can't select any type at all. I have to hit the Browse Button and when I find and select J:\, it only installs the app., but does not creat a Natural Point folder with app. and extras. Several times today I've uninstalled and re-installed and tried to create the other folders manually, but now I've boogered something. TrackIR with not launch at all. I get a flash of the opening screen and immediately an error message that says "TrackIR has stopped working" and it all disappears in a flash. I've got a call in to my computer guy to help me sort that out.

Before it stopped working, I was getting some progress. It tracked nicely up-and-down, and smoothly to the left, but to the right it went smooth for a bit, but past a certain point, it flips upside down and goes crazy. On the whole, I'd call that progress.

I made a short FRAPS film of it, but don't know how to post an attachment to this Forum. I see a box asking me to write a path beginning with http:\...but that's a web URL(?) If you could show a sample path, I'll post the film clip.

Well...moving right along. First, I got a reply from a friend on the Over Flanders Fields Forum. I had posted a screenie of the three green dots from the User Interface. It was pointed out that the configuration was backwards...and sure enough, the three light piece on the Track Clip was upside-down. So I went to control panels and uninstalled TrackIR one more time, deleted the old ShortCut, and re-installed from the 4.1 disc. Now, when I launch TrackIR I get a white screen, and across the top I see:

How do I get to the User Interface?

Hoy! The news is good, 'tho still a bit puzzling. On a whim I downloaded the 5.1 software which seems to have trumped the 4.1 quite handily. The white screen is gone, ('have no idea what that was about) the UI comes up, and the flipping of the 3 reflector lights 180 degrees has everything tracking perfectly.
