Trying to stay positive....

Does it really have to be completely dark, or close to it for my TrackIR 5 system to work right, with the track clip?
I was unaware of the requirement to have to have it so dark in the room with my computer for it not to go crazy.
The camera view box in the setup area, shows a couple red dots, and that is throwing the head movement around pretty crazy.
I used it last night, after I had gotten it set up, but then today, even with blinds closed, and sheets then hung up over my windows, it is still very much unreliable, and will not stay still for more than 1 minute, before going crazy.
The only thing that I can see, is that the camera box is showing a couple red dots, and that is making it like this.
How dark to I have to have my room? Is it picking up light from around the corners? I am lost, and would really like to use this software.
