Hello,
i work with virtools (3d animation soft)which works with vrpn. i use optitrack camera with the tracking tools soft which streams data through vrpn to virtools.
The problem is that the incoming data coming from tracking tools through vrpn are not equally time stamped. I.e delay time between data varies (5ms to 20 ms) while optitrack sampling rate is 120Hz so delay time must be 8.33ms between data received by virtools soft though vrpn. Is there any solution to reduce the variability of the time stamp delay (my aims is 8.3ms +/- 1ms)?

Are you streaming to Virtools on the same or another computer? Are you streaming live or recorded data?

I stream to virtools on an another computer through an intranet port (local network) but i try the experimentation on a single computer too (virtools and Tracking Tools on the same computer) and the result is about the same. I use the vrpn through UDP port in tracking tools, so i think i stream live data.

The versioning should be correct. Not sure where the delay is coming from.

Do you see the same delay with the NatNet client?

Could i use NatNet client with virtools?
How can i see data coming from Natnet client?

The NatNet SDK (found here) has a sample client application (code and binary) that can be used to test streaming.
