Hi there

We currently have an 18 camera V100:R2 camera setup, and are looking to upgrade it to 24.

While looking over the site today though, I noticed the choice of lenses.

Seeing as the stock ones are 4.5", I�d imagine those are the ones we currently own.
But should we stay in that same size?

We have to move out system around a lot on different locations, and often enough, the space is rather smaller than one would like.
That results in smaller capture areas, and difficulty running 2 actors at the same time.

Would different lenses perhaps help here?

Could you give some advice?

Note: I�ll probably put down an order already tomorrow, since we are a bit short of time, so an answer today would be very much appreciated.

Hi Jon,

The wide angle 3.5mm lenses might be a good option for you. They will offer a wider field of view (especially useful in smaller setup areas), but at a slight loss in resolution.

I typically wouldn't recommend the 3.5 in smaller camera setups, like 6 or 8, but any setup above 12 cameras should have sufficient camera redundancy to cover the resolution loss. You should certainly be fine with 24 cameras.

I would, however, recommend that you change all of the lenses out to 3.5mm if you end up going that direction. A mixed lens environment is possible, but calibration can be much more challenging.
