Is there any way this is going to work?
I got a TrackIR 1 from a friend and I can't get it working. Software installs but it won't recognize the device.

Hello -
Unfortunately, you're correct. TrackIR 1 and 2 units don't work with Vista or newer. You would need a TrackIR 3 or higher. It will, however, work with Windows XP, so you could roll back the OS on a gaming machine, however you'd probably lose a number of performance enhancements from Vista/7.

Hi Mike,
I am also getting myself back into simming with my old TrackIR1 device.
I have found different threads on how to de-activate driver signature validation in Win7x64 now I just need to point my "unknown usb device" to the drivers.
Could you please advise me on which drivers/files (I have installed the Naturalpoint software) I need to point the device manager to?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Mike
PS: Rolling back to XP or purchasing a TR5 is not an option for me at this moment. Thx!

TrackIR 1 and 2 are, unfortunately, not supported in Windows Vista or 7. I can point you to the software, but after that you'd be a bit on your own to get it up and running. Rollback to XP or updating to a TrackIR 3 or newer would be the only two officially supported options.
The TrackIR 1 software can be found at the bottom of our downloads page, here:
