Shaking in Precision Mode

When in Precision mode (i.e. with Precision tab highlighted bottom right), the 3D view jitters around even with my head absolutely stationary.

In non-Precision mode - it's fine. Speed is set to 1 and smoothing to 10. If I go to Precision mode and increase smoothing to maximum, it sorts the problem... until I then go back to Normal mode and then back to Precision when the shaking starts again. Again, if I change the smoothing value (decreasing it this time) it solves the problem until I exit out of Precision mode and go back into it.

Anyone any ideas?

How far from the camera are you?

Around 2-3 feet. There's no problem with non-Precision mode.

Do you have any issue with precision mode inside of two feet?
