Mouse Key Bind - delayed reaction

Hey guys!

My problem:

I bind the Pause, Center and Precision functions to my mouse keys. When I press the keys for the first times there is a delay of up to 3-5 seconds before TIR executes the function.

If I press the same button again and again a few times the delay shortens and the response is instant, like it should be.

So basically - if I play for a while and want to pause my TIR and press the button - I need to wait a few seconds... It's like the mouse buttons "cool down" and need to "warm up" again in order to have an instant reaction.

This problem does not appear when I bind the functions to keyboard keys.

I am using a Logitech G400, no special software or anything... I used a MX518 before and there was not a single problem like this.

Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Hmm, interesting. Is there any G400 specific software on your system?

If you enter the game, get the mouse running properly, then exit the game and restart it without turning off TrackIR, does it start the second time with the mouse click delays or does it start normally?

Nope. Does not help. After a little "cooling down" period the delay starts again when the button is pressed. :-/ I wished I could show you guys a video... mh.

But it works just fine with other mice? Interesting. It's possible it's related to the way the buttons function. I have no problem with my MX518, and that's similar. Try getting the configuration software from Logitech and see if adjustments there will affect its responsiveness.

I have found a pretty good way to reproduce this...
MOUSE5 button for PAUSE.

Start TIR, drag it to the side of desktop a bit. Use the mouse keys to pause and watch the status LEDs. Then go to desktop and draw a rectangle by holding the LMB. Don't select anything, just draw it and release LMB. Now hit the MOUSE5 button again. It will have a 1-2 second delay. When there is no more delay, draw another rectangle on the desktop. Hit MOUSE5 again.

Maybe you guys could get a G400 for testing?

My Mainboard is:
ASRock Z68 Pro3 Gen3

BTW - I thought it could be the mainboard so I grabbed my old MX518 and sticked it in. Works flawlessly.

I also installed the mouse software - didn't change a thing.

:-/ I am sorry for being a pain in the ass with this but... I guess that's what support forums are there for.

Hmm, can't seem to reproduce this in house. Mouse 3, 4, and 5 all seem to work appropriately so far.

What driver are you using for your mouse? You can find this by going to the device manager, then right clicking on the mouse (likely under HID (human interface devices)), selecting properties, then going to the driver tab. The version and name of the driver would be useful to have.

The mouse is in Device Manager/"Mice and other Pointing devices" (rough translation from german)

Driver Provider: Logitech
Driver Date: 07.02.2012
Driver Version: 8.30.19.0

:-/ God dammit! Why the hell does it work so nicely with the MX518 but with the G400 it does not! Bah!

I even tried reinstalling TIR and re-doing all profiles... In other applications it runs just fine.

Dammit. Anything I can do? Any big log? hijackme or whatever it's called? I'll do everything to help sort this out.

Do you still have the 518? If you plug it in does it use the same driver?
