The TrackIR works in the TrackIR panel but does not work with games using my laptop. I have another computer (desktop) with TrackIR on it and it works fine. Both of the computers are using Windows 7. I only get the left green light even after I started FSX and Trainz. I uninstalled the driver and software and re-installed and it still is not working. I also tried running both TrackIR and FSX in Administrator mode.

I know FSX uses a local network interface to connect the TrackIR to the game, so try disabling your firewall on the laptop and see if that allows it to connect.

I tried with the firewall off and its still not working. Both my laptop and PC have McAfee. It works on the PC with the firewall on but it doesn't work either way on/off on the laptop.

Which version of the TrackIR software are you using?

Are the USB ports on your laptop 2.0 or 3.0?

(2x) Hi-Speed USB 2.0 ports
(2x) SuperSpeed USB 3.0/2.0 Combo ports

You'll want to make sure they are in the 2.0 ports. The 3.0 ports are supposed to backward compatible and act like 2.0 with a 2.0 device, but that sometimes has issues.

Also, what type of video card do you have?

I have tried all the USB ports and it's still not working.

I finally got it to work with FSX. I re-installed FSX and patched service pack 1 & 2. It's still not working with Trainz, so I guess I will need to re-install it too.
