Uninstall Error

Today i decided to update my TrackIR software from 5.1.3.Final to 5.2.Final, so i try to uninstall the early version from my computer in programs and features but it wouldn't go away.

So manually went into the Program files (x86) and deleted the Naturalpoint folder which went ok.

I then unplugged TrackIR from the USB and rebooted the computer and checked programs and feature where i still see TrackIR 5 still there but when i try to uninstall this time i get a error message.

Error message during setup says
Error extracting support files:
Catastropic failure

I then thought i would install the new version 5.2.Final where again i got the same error.
Error extracting support files:
Catastropic failure
Even tried the older version which i had on previous and still getting same error.

I also tried Administrator user to uninstall TrackIR but got same error.
Checked registry files and found 2 files related to Naturalpoint which i deleted.

I checked the forum for any similar problems and found this post http://forum.naturalpoint.com/forum/ubb ... mber=47129 the chap at the end seems to be having the same problem but it wasn't really solved so here i am hoping for any help to get me back on track.

I'm using Windows 7 Home Edition 64bit version.

Thanks

If possible I would like to do a remote support session with you and take a look at what is going on. I am available weekdays from 9AM-5PM PST and the remote client can be found at: http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/06-support/contact/

You will only be able to download it during our normal business hours.

Hi there thank you for your reply Jeff.

I've got to be honest i don't feel comfortable using any type of remote support in any situation, its not personal as i don't even let my family mess with my computer heh.

Anyway i'm not very computer savvy but will try any suggestions that you or anyone make.

In fact as you posted i was trying to figure out how to post images of my errors,i haven't got a clue how.

Is there any other way we can proceed to solve my problem i will even try solutions again that i have already tried.

Just wanna get back to using trackir5 like i was before i tried to update.

Thanks

Hi there,
I have spent the last couple of days looking for solutions but to no avail, i did find another post with someone having a similar problem as me,the chap at the bottom of the topic http://forum.naturalpoint.com/forum/ubb ... mber=40500
Again it didn't seem to get resolved.

What has become evident is that i have become very attached to TrackIR 5 and cannot play my games without it now because it is that good in my opinion so i hope a solution can be found soon.

Thanks for listening.

Hi there,

I have solved my problem by deleting another file in the registry, the answer was given by Vincent in the 2nd post on this topic http://forum.naturalpoint.com/forum/ubb ... mber=39554

It took a while but now i'm happy and back to playing my games with TrackIR 5

Thank you for trying to help.
