TrackIR stopped working

I had my TrackIR5 working without a hitch with the 5.2 software.
All the sudden it stopped working:

-1- there is no tracking in the standard TrackIR window
-2- the IR levels can be modified and the dots respond to changes in intensity
-3- on startup of IL2 or similar, the green light to my right comes on but not both as before

I tried to reinstall everything following the different options of the manual: nothing
I tried to use the 4.x versions: crash
I did a complete thorough reinstallation after using a regcleaner: nothing

This happened on startup. The day before I performed a critical update regarding Windows and updated my antivirus (AVG 2013). Disabling AVG for reinstallation attempts didn't change anything.

What might be the cause of this problem? Software? Camera failure (hardware)?

Please help!

You mention that the dots respond to changing the intensity setting, do the dots show up as red or green?

Hi Jeff,

I tried to install it on my wife's computer and on my son's computer: same problem...

I guess the camera is dead ;-/

I ordered a new one as I am so used to it that I can't fly without it...Hope the new one will last a longer
