Repair enquiries?

I sent my SmartNav off to the states for repair at the beginning of December (RMA #XXXXX-XXXXX). It's been a month and a half- I've allowed for the Christmas rush, but now I'm starting to wonder where it is (and my arms would like to stop bearing the load!)
Is there a process by which we can find out the status of a job other than by phoning the US?
