Mysterious Blind Spot

Hi everyone, so i've had my trackir 5 for a long time almsot two years. I bought it on ebay as a preopened package and the trackir itself arrived with scratches on the surface. However, over the last two years it's been strong and the scratches have had no effect on the performence. Anyways, suddenly this week it has started to glitch out and loose vision on my trackclip if i held my head a certain way, which of course is super annoying as my vision in game is snapped around etc. I was confused so I began to run some test with the camera and my track clip to find out what was going on and lo and behold I found that there's a hole or blindspot on my camera that has never been there before and has just appeared.

Here's what it looks like with my thumb close to the camera.

So my questions are...

1. Is this normal wear and tear for my Trackir 5?
2. Is there anyway to fix this 'blindspot' ie opening up my trackir.
3. Would a trackclip pro bypass this blindspot?
4.Does anyone have any suggestions for me, because with this blindspot my trackir 5 is pretty much useless with the jarring effect it has in gameplay.

Thanks alot for reading!

1. I wouldn't call this normal wear and tear, but it does look like the imager in the camera is beginning to fail. I haven't seen a blind spot like that form before but the line coming off to the right of it is what it looks like when it's getting too much IR or if it's beginning to fail.

2. You can try changing the Light Filter Threshold and IR Brightness settings to see if that makes any difference. Also trying the TrackIR on another PC to see if the problem follows the camera or if it's something related to your PC/environment.

3. The TrackClip Pro won't solve the issue since it appears to be a spot in the camera that can't see IR light, weather it's coming from a reflector or an IR LED on a TrackClip Pro.

4. The biggest determining factor is going to be trying it on another PC in at least another room just to see if it's related to your computer or the area you're using it in.
