LONGBOW2: TRACKIR-TRACKMAPPER

Believe it or not Janes Longbow2 has emerged out of the ashes like the mythical Phoenix and is flying higher and better than ever.
Yes, LB2 can be made to run on WinXP and you can use your TrackIR (even Pro3) with it in the 3D cockpit.
This worked on my TrackIR Pro3 with the 3.13 drivers. Im sure this will work with all the older TIR hardware.
(I havent tried it yet with the 4.x drivers yet on the Pro3)
---------------
UPDATE: TrackMapper works well with v4 TIR software/drivers also, even better infact.
---------------
Next thing is to try to get diagonal motion to work instead of just X or Y movements at any one time.
I tested a TrackIR flow I put together and it works reasonably well:
=======================
1. D/L the TrackMapper
http://kaf.tri6.net/trackmapper/files/t ... per11a.zip
2. Set up ALL of the UP/DN/LF/RT sectors with the TILT and SLEW commands:
UP = NUMPAD8
DN = NUMPAD2
LF = NUMPAD4
RT = NUMPAD6
(LB2 does not have diagonal slew commands)
3. Set both check marks for the keytype produced in TrackMapper
4. Bump up the frame rate to 60 fps in TrackMapper
5. Push on the keyboard emulation button and settings for emulation.
6. Save the changes with a new name and the auto load check mark.
7. Go into the LB2 options menu (ALT-O) and remap the view commands for to be TILT-UP, TILT-DN, SLEW-LF, SLEW-RT instead of the default 2D cpit snap view commands.
8. Invoke the N.P. TIR 3.13 software while the TrackMapper is also running. Select the TrackMapper in the profile menu. The top of TrackMapper will say if its communicating with the TrackIR driver GUI. (Minimize the TIR software, it affects frame rate if you dont).
9. Fire up LB2 and test the TrackIR in the 3D cockpit. The mouse emulation mode will allow you to use your head to move the cursors in the MFDs, and the tracking mode will move slew the head in the 3D cpit. My guess it will slew the seeker in the CPG OPT scope mode too.
=======================
