OptiShow FPS setting

Hey guys,

I am using optiShow with optitrack v120:slim on a windows 7 64bit machine. I tried to play around with the fps value. Things look ok up to 50 FPS. However, whenever I tried to set higher FPS I get dropped frames every now and then. I am setting a 120 FPS but the image appears to be captured at 55 FPS. My test setup is simple, I place the camera on top of my iPhone timer and see how many frames for 1 sec.

Any idea what went wrong?

Thanks,
Kelvin

Hi Kelvin,

Are you using raw grayscale or MJPEG mode? Here is the FAQ on grayscale:

Hi Dustin,

Thanks for the reply.

I am dropping frames at 50% of maximum FPS which is effectively 60 fps and on MPJEG compression. I am not doing any size decimation and the camera is connected to a USB 2.0 port on a MacBook Pro running on windows 7 boot camp.

At 25% I drop frames for first 2 sec and its ok after that. But I need to capture at 60 fps at least. I have raised a ticket and am still waiting for responds.

I am pretty desperate for help so any form of advice is welcomed. Have been stuck on this for quite some time.

Thanks,
K
