Active IR causing a problem

I just got back into town today and loaded up my brand new copy of IL-2FB.
As usuall,I went by SimHQ IL-2 forum to see what was new.
I found a post about being sure to use the new 2.01b drivers so I downloaded them right away.(it also told how to properly set up the new enhanced mode ,but I've not done that yet.
I got my TIR in the fall of 2001 and shortly after put together an active IR sorce for it. up untill today,It has worked like a dream.
I launched into a "quick mission" and shortly started having problems. the game started frezeing up.
I tried differant things to isolate the problem ,but nothing helped,untill during a freaze I reached up and cut off my active IR source.The game started working normal so after a bit I turned the IR source back on,Instant freaze ups!
as soon as I post this,I am going to set up the inhanced mode as per instructions.
has anyone else ever had a problem using an active IR source?
