Would it be possible to program TrackIR to mimick head position as well as head rotation?
This would go far to solve the SA problems associated with using a monitor. Think of it...just move your head to look over and around the different obstructions imposed by cockpit structure.

The problem is some objects in the cockpit weren't designed and textured to be viewed from more than one perspective. There is no "behind" to some objects.

Jim, we've talked about this before of course but I hope the design you are working on (2 TIR units) would make those of us with one just buy another right? It wouldn't mean getting rid of what we have and buying another 2 I hope... lol.

Hello:
We are working on multiple ways to accomplish this task. The basic idea though is to have a single or multiple trackIR units that can be used for single dot tracking or be upgraded to the more complex system. We are trying hard to protect your existing investment.

There could always be a hotkey to turn translation to rotation. Or vise versa. It would take getting used to, but once you were used to it, it would be a quick and simple thing to do. I think the only changes you would need for this is software.
