Exporting video

Hello,
I'm trying to export the motion capture video from motive as a separate AVI or video file. My goal is to superimpose the motion capture video onto the live action video so that an audience can see where the markers are placed on the body. Is there a way to do this in motive?
Thanks,
Sarani

Hi Sarani,
Unfortunately, the 3D overlay onto the reference video is limited to real-time compositing within Motive. Once you export the reference video as an .AVI, you will not have the ability to include the 3D data.
Including this functionality is on our to-do list, but it's not likely to be available in the near future, as it will require a complete rewrite of our MJPEG engine.
Other than tapping directly into Motive via the API and building your own projection tool for overlay (massively time consuming and tricky), the best workaround right now would probably be a screen capture of playback within Motive.

Hello, I've got question about this topic. Is it possible to get .avi video from camera in custom application using your NPTrackingTools.dll? Is there any function for it? Thx for answer

The most you can get out of the Motive API (NPTrackingTools.dll) is full frame imagery for each camera. You can't create an AVI via the API. This functionality is available from within the Motive user interface however.
