Calibration of Camera View to Projector Image

Hi, I am using an OptiTrack V120 slim camera for a laser tracking project. I have the camera watching a projector looking for an IR laser. Currently, I can track the laser using object mode and map the coordinates to the projection screen using a 3+ point calibration. The manual calibration is cumbersome and not as accurate as I'd like due to plane differences between the camera's view and the projector.

Is it possible to develop an auto-calibration using the V120 and the camera SDK? For example, can I turn off the IR filter, display white dots on a black screen, find them using object mode, and then figure out the coordinates for the calibration? Thus far, this hasn't worked. The camera doesn't return any objects when the IR filter is off.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

As long as you are projecting visible spectrum light, you should be able to disable the IR filter in order to perform a projected pattern calibration. Many users have created a system like this with that camera model.
