Bad device?

How would I know if I have a bad device?
Like I said it's brand new.
Is there a log file I can look at?
Why does the left green LED flicker occasionally?
Like I said, no sun at all, ever.
I wear glasses but have tried with and without them on.
If I put my hand between the sensor and the reflector it will stop motion in FSX which is normal.
Don't know if this is a potential problem or not.
Please advise.
Thanks.

Hello,
Thank you for the forum post. It sounds like you are using the Hat Clip but I do not want to assume this is the case. Could you please confirm which device you are using? If this is the Hat Clip, have you tried adjusting your light threshold setting to about 170?
Best Regards,

Hi Dustin, I use the hat ckip and I adjusted it to 170 but it still flickers.
I was just wondering if this was an indication of an impending hardware failure.

Hello,
Are there any red dots in the camera view?

This is very interesting. It sounds like a typical light interference issue. However, you have told me there are no red lights in the camera view as this is happening. Could I have you create a ticket with us at:

Hi Dustin, first please explain what you mean by camera view?
Do you mean the hardware or the software?
I need more information.
On the device I can look closely and see the four LEDs inside it. Not lit.
If I pause it I get two red LEDs one on each side where they were green.
Please explain how to check for what you say.

The camera view is in the TrackIR software. It is a small box in the upper left display view. Let me know if this helps.

What's odd Dustin is it doesn't do it all the time.
Sometimes i can fly a flight that's hundreds of miles long without one flicker. Others it seems to flicker every few minutes.
I was having SimConnect error boxes but I reinstalled SimConnect and no more boxes.
So far on this flight I have not seen one flicker.
I don't know. But it hasn't seemed to affect the performance at all.
I don't know enough about the device to tell if this is normal or not.
