TrackIR has increased my kill ratio dramatically by improving my awareness.

I played for almost 3 hours online with no icons enabled and got kill after kill.

The ability to track opponents while performing tight turns, being inverted etc was incredible. Quite simply people could not shake me from their tails.

Also by allowing me to quickly look around to track multiple bandits i was able to engage outnumbered and come out alive.

so WOW !!! I love it.

A tip.
It took my an entire night to find the best way to setup my reflective dots. The best performance I found was to wear a baseball cap, cut out a small square of paper ( a plain white biz card in my case ), tape it to the brim of the hat so the square was facing the the tracking unit of course, then create a clover leaf blob of reflective dots.

If any of you are having probles getting smooth, accurate tracking then try this configuration.

Once you start getting used to it you may want to try a graduated deadzone that's less sensitive to the front of the cockpit, curving gradually to your six where it is most sensitive. This allows steady shot aiming without jiggling around and very quick "six-checks". The best of both worlds!

Also, as nice and smooth as it is to have "smoothing" up to 120, that settings really is for noobs. It doesn't matter how smooth it is while your head is moving to look at the target, only when it is ON the target so you can get a sense of where and how fast he's going. A lower setting reduces the lag to move your head, especially if checking quickly side to side. I personally set mine to 60 but experiment to find the best setting for you.

I noticed a similar change in my performance after my first few weeks. I think it might be a combination of factors but TrackIR has played a big part (the situational awareness). Its great!
