I installed TIR5 (and v5.2.2 of the software) a few days ago, set it up for FSX, and it worked like a charm. However, yesterday it stopped working in FSX (still works fine in TIR UI, and the two green lights are lit up while sitting in the cockpit in FSX, but the screen won't track--it just faces forward).
I only changed one thing between when TIR worked in FSX and when it stopped: I had been flying with REX v3 textures when TIR worked, but the weather injection system of REX3 hadn't been working yet. So I contacted REX support, who had me install simconnect.msi from the REX directory. That partially corrected the REX issue (no more REX crashing), but after that is when TIR stopped working as I described above.
I tried one potential fix that ended up having no effect whatsoever: I found the tip here (http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/03- ... tor-x.html) to add the following text to simconnect.xml:
<SimConnect.Comm>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Protocol>Auto</Protocol>
<Scope>local</Scope>
<Address></Address>
<MaxClients>64</MaxClients>
<Port></Port>
<MaxRecvSize>4096</MaxRecvSize>
<DisableNagle>False</DisableNagle>
</SimConnect.Comm>
However, as I noted, that had no noticeable effect: TIR still did not work as I explained above.
Any suggestions for how to fix this?
Thanks,
Mike

Re: TrackIR in FSX - stopped working (due to simconnect?)
Hello Mike,
Does the TrackIR function properly in FSX without REX V3 running?

No. Since it stopped working in FSX, it no longer works regardless of what I do and whether I run REX or not. (FYI - REX and ORBX Global are my only add-ons, and ORBX is only graphical and has been installed unchanged since before I got TIR).
