question about third-party keyboard and joystick emulator

I've been looking at Track IR for the purposes of emulating a keyboard to play games but the only software available is out of date but I was curious if anyone had used it for version 5 of Track IR. If you have used it, is it possible to hold down keys to use for movement? I would greatly appreciate any input from someone who has a Track IR 5 and would be willing to test it for me, because otherwise this particular piece of hardware would be of no use to me.

Hey Billbo331,
I am loading a new game to test the software out now. So far it is functioning with the TrackIR 5 and I am excited to see how it works in game. I will have a more concrete answer for you later today.

Hey again Billbo331,
I wanted to let you know that Trackmapper works with TrackIR 5. I used it to play Outlast. You have to select the option to "generate virtual keycodes" under the settings menu and then map your chosen keys. It takes a little to get used to, but it did work well. I hope that I have been helpful and please update me if it works well for you.
You can download the trackmapper here:

that's good to hear that it does work. does it let you hold down keys or just press them? I haven't purchased a track IR yet, but if it works like that it will probably be worth purchasing for me. Thanks for testing it out

Billbo331,
It held the key down solidly for me. It worked well for WASD movements.
