Hello,
I am developing a realtime virtual reality performance where my shoulders forearms and hands will be in view. Using the oculus rift I will be highly interacting with objects (buttons, sliders, moveable objects ect...) in a virtual arena. I am designing gloves that will track each of my fingers, so I will be needing OptiTrack to track the orientation and position of both my shoulders, elbows and wrists. Again this will be all in realtime, accuracy needs to be high and latency low so my virtual model will seem natural, responsive and accurate.
Camera placement does not matter, close tracking distance is fine, my entire body wont be moving more than 4 feet during the performance, my body will be rotating up to 270 degrees as my virtual stage will be inside a small spherical dome cockpit.
I have never used motion tracking systems before so can someone point me to the required hardware and software I will be needing as a start.
Thank you!
