I have been watching this technology since it started (trackir). I have been a sim pilot since the early days. I also have around 475 hours in small single engine aircraft and hold an instrument rating as well as private pilot. I can honestly say the TRackIr2 has been nothing short of amazing. I had my doubts as well as read a few complaints and tech issues. I have had my track IR for 2 hours and all of my concerns are gone ...accept for maybe my family missing me while I play with the new "toy." The ease of installation, set-up and getting started was as simple as installing version 3.03 off the software and plugging the unit in. I chose almost the default settings for dead zone and followed a 4 or 5 step set-up from one of the forums. . . IL2FB flying in enhanced mode . . . feels so natural. I don't know if its because I have some real flight time, have been playing games for along time or just have decent situational awareness, but the immersion factor has gone through the roof. I don't know how I ever flew a sim without it. I dont know how I have flown IL2 with cockpits off. I really dont know how I will wait for the Lomac path. Good job designers . . . this is without a doubt the best $100.00 I have ever spent! If you dont have one of these you are really missing out.
