I have just updated to the new IL2 FB patch that was released just hours ago, finally Oleg has done some thing about the Linda Blair view that us TIR users were able to use, Oleg has taken it out , however he has made it so that the rear view back over the L & R shoulder now looks back futher so you can see the seat and the tailfin, its a much better situation now and I really like the way its been done.
Hopefully now all those who bashed us TIR users as cheats because we liked and used the view will leave us alone to enjoy the product and IL2 FB Aces,.
All game users now have the same views again so everyone should be happy
Jim if you had any thing to do with this, then its a great and I salute you for sorting this out.
Il2 FB Aces new patch out and LB view
Re: Il2 FB Aces new patch out and LB view
There is a promblem with the new rear view in Il2 FB Aces and the new patch, if you dont have the original Linda Blair view enabled in the registry you wont get the futher back six view.
There is a eay fix for this now I just tested it.
Shut down the TIR program and go into your registry, look for
TrackIR root key location will be found under :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\NaturalPoint\NaturalPoint
The key name will be the version of the trackir
software, for instance "V3.10 GX" for 3.10
Then scroll down and change the 1 to 2 like it says below
* TrackIR Enhanced View Range Limiting override
Added : 2.11
registry key name : "ViewLimiting"
registry key values : "1" = normal (restricted to "realistic" ranges)
"2" = open (larger range of motion)
This was what we had to do to enable the Linda blair view that a lot of people complained about but now it gives you as much view as the mouse users get.
I dont know why its like this and im not sure how Oleg has done it this way, but it works as I just tested it

Re: Il2 FB Aces new patch out and LB view
I'm using TIR1 and series 2 drivers cos I like them.
I have Linda Blair view enabled normally....... do I have to edit anything if I still want to get the extra range in AEP Patch 2.1?
NB I currently have viewlimit key = 0 in registry.

Re: Il2 FB Aces new patch out and LB view
Mark H,
We are working on a release that will resolve this.
The guys who developed IL2 have been very helpful so this will quickly be solved.
Thanks Hotdognz for pointing this out.

I have mine set to 2 and I still do not have LB view.
So.... are you SURE it works?

Re: Il2 FB Aces new patch out and LB view
Have you tried to set it to "3"?
IIRC "1" means "game's limits", "2" is some "enhanced movement" and "3" is "full view".
Haven't checked it myself yet, though.
