Sometime's it centers, sometimes it doesn't

Hello,
I've been using TrackIR 5 for a few years now and all of a sudden I'm having a problem with the software. Whenever I'm in game and I try to center the TrackIR it doesn't register and I have to alt-tab to the program and do it.
However, sometimes it works while in game. It seems like it's really arbitrary and I don't know of any settings in the software that would not allow centering while in game.
I'm running Windows 8.1, btw.

Hello Unknown03,
I see that you responded to a different thread about this problem. I am going to test this out and hopefully replicate the issue so I can find a proper solution. Is there anything else you can tell me about the specs of your system?
Regards,

Sure, my specs are:
Windows 8.1 x64
Asrock z68 Motherboard
MSI GTX 760 Graphics Card
i5 2500k CPU with H60 cooler
12GB RAM
of course TrackIR 5
Naturally, since I didn't do anything new to the software, my suspicions are that something about Windows was updated, however I don't recall it having updated in a while.

Unknown03,
Are you using any controllers, joysticks or any peripherals along with TrackIR? I only have a few reports of this problem and they are all within the last two weeks. There has to be something common across the systems that is causing the problem.

Exactly same issue, word for word.:
"I've been using TrackIR 5 for a few years now and all of a sudden I'm having a problem with the software. Whenever I'm in game and I try to center the TrackIR it doesn't register and I have to alt-tab to the program and do it."
This new issue in more detail.
Some applications or games, all fine. Say simple apps like Winword, Chrome. Mortal Kombat.
This new issue observed in Arma 2 and Arma 3. Once opened, it simply will not do hot keys, you have to tab to TrackIR, center, tab back in.
Tried:
PC format.
Remove re-install.
In TrackIR, Reassign keys, Trap enabled or not.
Reassign the keys {F9 and F12} to say {Ins and Del}, same issue.
System. All the same for some time.
Windows 7 64bit. Pro. => No change, maybe win updates recent.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 => No change, maybe updates recent.
ASUS P8Z77-V PRO => No change, maybe updates recent.
Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 Joystick => No change. 14 years old.
This is a serious issue. Please can we find resolve.

I just saw in another thread that it might be because of Shadowplay, and I can confirm that this is a problem for me as well. When I disable Shadowplay I can now center with my assigned key.
As for other peripherals, I also have a Logitech G35 headset, X-52 Joystick, and Xbox 360 Gamepad.

fun6utzi,
I'm looking forward to your response. So far it has fixed the problem on all machines. The downside is that ShadowPlay can't be used with TrackIR at the moment.

I can absolutely confirm that ShadowPlay is the problem here. I attempted to post in this section:
https://forums.naturalpoint.com/viewtop ... 60&t=12933 (my post doesn't seem to be showing at this time?) and THEN I found this posting here. I had mentioned I was going to try and revert to an older driver, but before I did that I turned ShadowPlay off, booted up the game, and it worked perfectly.
Clearly there's a software conflict going on with TrackIR and ShadowPlay

RamboMadCow,
The issue was frustrating for a few of us and so far, disabling ShadowPlay has been the solution. I'm looking forward to other options or an update so I can use both together again. I'm glad to hear that you found the thread and can get back in the game.
