Motive Headless or as Linux

Hi there,

we've been a bit playing around with the idea of installing Motive in a VM running on our host machine - Arch Linux. Goal is to avoid having a separate tracking box and the need to maintain a Windows installation. A problem to do this is that VMware workstation and also VirtualBox are OpenGL 2.1 only and Motive seemingly needs a higher API level (docs are not verbose on that). While we can configure things on a "native" machine it would be great to just have a headless version of Motive forwarding tracking data through VRPN. Any plans to add a headless mode or maybe a Linux version?

Hi Retrakker,

I would be happy to point you in the right direction on this topic. It would be helpful if I could have you create a ticket with us at help.naturalpoint.com. This would be the easiest way for me to have a software dev comment on your question.

Regards,
