Won't Recognize Letter "a"

When running TrackIR, keyboard will not recognize letter "a" outside of the program. For example I can type letter "a" or "A" in any type of document, correspondence, email, you name it. Keyboard won't recognize it. This only occurs when running TrackIR?

Hello NorCal,

Do you happen to have "a" assigned to a hotkey within TrackIR? If it is trapped in TrackIR you wouldn't be able to use it outside of the software while it is running. I would suggest resetting all of your hotkeys in TrackIR and testing it again.

Regards,

BINGO! I took the easy route & reassigned an "F" key to avoid the alphabet keys.

What's weird, before I saw your post I uninstalled & re installed & nothing changed using, what I thought, was the program default keys. "a" was STILL showing! How do you do a "clean" uninstall to avoid this situation?

I would recommend others follow your recommendation. Also experiment w/ checking the boxes independent of each other to see what results you can come up with then you'll see your limitations and avoid what I did. Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I just had to get outta the way of myself to see the forest through the trees again. Thanks

NorCal,

Glad to see that it is working for you once again. Sometimes files get stuck when uninstalling, so I like to reboot once or twice after removing the software and then search for remnant files and folders before re-installing.

Mike, just one more item that you mentioned. Where do you look for "remnant(s)" so to make sure you've got everything cleaned up before launching another installation?

NorCal,

I double check the Program Files (X86) folder to make sure there aren't any left over folders. I also like to go through regedit.exe and search for the terms "NaturalPoint" and "TrackIR" to make sure that I get everything removed. There are some files in there that can't be removed, but I like to check. Make sure you know what you are deleting, because removing the wrong thing in the registry can cause problems.
