Track IR conflicting with nvidia 344.48 - Cards dont idle

I just upgraded my computer to have 2 980 cards (and formatted because motherboard fried ._.) and I am noticing that the core clocks for the 980's keep running near 100% when trackIR is loaded.
As soon as I close down trackIR the clock speed drops and the cards become idle.
This was not the case pre-upgrade/format with the 340 drivers and 2 670 cards.
Thankfully the 980's take less power then the 670's but its still wasted power
I'm running trackIR 5.2.2 build 14548 on Win7Sp1 64bit.
Nvidia driver is version 344.48 which is the new 'game ready' marketing thing driver they have going.

Conz,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I'll be looking into it to see what may be causing the issue. Hopefully it leads to an excuse for me to buy a couple 980s, but likely it is just in the software. Have you tried running a slightly older version of the driver?
Regards,

The previous driver has other issues, the ones before that do not support the 980 from what I understand.
There's a good chance it is a driver issue as the cards are so new... that's why I already suggested the link between the issue and the driver

It usually takes nvidia 5-10 tries to get it right with a new card
I did see another post about the software being slow with triple buffering but that's turned off by default it seems.
I'll tinker a bit further, in case it helps I have 2 Gigabyte GV-N980D5-4GD-B's.

Conz,
I'm installing 344.60 drivers that were released today. I'll test it out and see if I can replicate the issue. Have you had a chance to install the new driver today?

Conz,
What utility are you using to watch the core usage? I am not seeing any meaningful difference in core percentage whether I am running TrackIR or not. I have tested it on a 750, 760 and 870. It may be an issue to do with the 9xx series. I'll have to have someone else do the troubelshooting for me because I don't have one available to test on.

I'm using EVGA's precision x. You can also see it on GPU-z I think.

Conz,
Thanks for the info and the screen shot. They are helpful. I'll see if I can find a work around tonight. I have a 9xx model that I am going to test this on. Hopefully I'll have something soon.
