Detecting laser pointer with Flex 13

Hi,
I have a setup which includes a single Flex13 camera, a projector, a projection screen and a laser pointer (Laser Spec Class 3a, Up to 5mW, 635-650nm wavelength).
The setup works as described below;
1 - The Projector projects the image to the projection screen
2 - Laser pointer points on the projection screen randomly
The aim is detecting the laser on the screen and extract the screen coordinates of the laser beam.
Can anyone give some suggestion for a start point to achieve this efficiently;
* About SDK camera settings (Eg: SetVideoType ?, SetThreshold ?, SetExposure?, SetIRFilter?)
* About setup (Eg: optimum camera distance ?, environmental ligth conditions ?)
* About Issues to be considered.
Regards
