Hi folks,

Back from a very enjoyable and much needed holiday. I never realised how tired I was until we went away.

Now for the news:

I'm really excited to announce that, thanks to the great work by Aero Shodanjo with MAT file parameters and TGA files it is now possible to impliment alpha channel transparacy (opacity really) in aircraft markings. Something that I've been trying to crack for a long time. I have edited all of my MAT and TGA files to incorporate these new parameters. It takes quite a few hours to do over 200,000 file operations but it's done and I'll be creating an installer to send to the beta testers later. Please note this is still somewhat experimental work and things might need to be tweaked along the way but I'm very happy with my findings to date.

I have always maintained that IL2-MAT Manager is a real team effort. It works because others have taken time and effort to experiment such as the excellent work done by Mc Wolf with the lighting effect parameters and those who have produced some excellent markings such as Extreme-One's RAF and USAAF lettering and UF Jose who produced those great weathered hinomaru markings.

I'll shall probably re-do my full program installer to include the all new MATs and TGAs and the latest program version (2.33) as I do not have the web space to house another 28MB file.

I'll keep you posted on the latest news, in the meantime please address your comments to the excellent work done by Aero Shodanjo. I think this is a really exciting advance in MAT Manager markings.

Best Regards

Leigh/Aces
