Support Needed

Not sure if my first post registered sorry if this gets posted twice.
I just bought this headtracker. I have the tracker unit right in front of me and slightly bellow eye level. I am getting a lot of ramdom head moments. I move my head left and it doesn't do anything. I move my head right and it goes right for a little bit and then suddenly zooms way out and to the left. I bought this for p3d. I tried it in p3d everytime I moved my head it changed the view. I'd move my head right and it would take me out of the cockpit and I'd find the view floating to the right. Or I move my head slightly to the right and it would very quickly turn 360 degrees around and up. It's not smooth and very ramdom. Anyone know what I am doing wrong? Also on the tracker the left led is the only one I see come on. Is this just as simple as the tracker needs to be above eye level?
