stuttering
stuttering
I'm having a problem with my TIR. It seems like even when I get it dialed in and is working smoothly, after a bit it starts "sticking" whenever I try to look to my left. I've tried moving forward, back, recentering, etc. but the problem just won't go away. Why is that? It's really starting to get to me. I never have that problem looking to the right. Could it be the hardware??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: stuttering
I am hoping to have a fix for issues like this but they are still in the works.
Also make sure that this isnt a case where you move your head in a position where one of the reflectors are out of sight of the TrackIR.

What I discovered is when I was actually handling the TIR device there appeared to be some kind of substance like rubber cement on the right hand side of the device, which would naturally affect any movement on the facing left side. It came off real easy and the TIR appeared to work flawlessly once I cleaned it but I need to fly more to be really sure. It really bugs me if that's the problem because I've been trying to deal with the problem for a while now, thinking I had the wrong position, or my head movements were too radical, only to discover that all that was needed was to clean the face of my TIR???!!!! Sheesh. Thanks for the help tho, it's indeed a fine product I just can't do without.

Re: stuttering
I'm getting the exact same problem now with my TIR3Pro and Vector Haukeye & Rick. Ever since I installed on my new machine (which I specifically built for flying PF at no small cost to my pocket book!) with the latest drivers 4.1 27 I've had this problem . I'd sure as hell like my TIR to work properly. It did before on, but not now.

Re: stuttering
Still sticking. I cleaned the unit just thinking Hauk was on to something, but to no avail. It stutters when looking over left shoulder after flying for a while. Never had this problem on the old machine. Didn't move the unit either when I got the new machine.
Old specs:
Leadtek MOBO
AMD 2500+ Barton
1 Gig 2700 RAM
ATI 9600XT 256 AGP
New specs:
ASUS A8n SLI Deluxe
AMD 64 3500+
1 Gig 3200 RAM
ATI X850XT 256 PCIe
Super frustrating

Re: stuttering
OK, this is seriously getting annoying. Any look over my left shoulder towards the 6 view and it just gets sticky. In that view I cannot look up or down without it sticking or being like a slide show. I've gone back to 4.1 26 drivers in hopes this would resolve it, but to no avail. I've checked in the headtracking window and the tracking window and tried the Default profile as well as the others. All the same thing. The head turns and looks behind it, but when I look up or down it sticks.

Re: stuttering
Post a screen shot of your tracking window.

Rick.
(Posted in Trkir Forum on this as well)
I am involved with IL2/FB Testing. At present I am running a test IL2/FB SFS file that contains specific TrackIr fix routines in it.
Can you contact me via Email ref this subject.
I need a little more information to test this correctly.
My setup is TRKIR3Pro Vector. In Standard FB I have noticed a small issue that may be related.
At the 3 and 9 oclock positions I get a little view wander of around +- 2 degrees or so at about 10hz, with my head motionless. So far adjusting Smoothing/Light filtering has no effect
