TrackIR 5 Pre-Purchase Advice

I am potentially interested in purchasing a TrackIR 5, however i have a question i am unable to find any clear answer for. which is how well does the TrackIR 5 handle ambient sunlight when using a pro clip?
the reason i ask is that i currently use a modified PS3 camera with a homemade pro-clip equivalent using opentrack and this works exceptionally well during the dark winter evenings for FSX, however my Office and PC is in my conservatory Which does have tinted roofing glass, but during the day it is incredibly difficult to tune so it works correctly because this still results in a lot more than three tracking points being seen by the software.
for you guys who own a TrackIR 5 and a pro-clip can this be used with ambient sunlight being visible? or does it suffer the same problems? i cant see anyone specifically complaining of this issue on the TrackIR 5, there are some stating similar issues with the TrackIR 4.
any advice would be appreciated, as i am leaning towards the TrackIR 5 anyway as i think potentially there is less messing around with games configs than with OpenTrack as the profiles can be shared (Correct me if i am wrong?)
