Help with random tir crashes using FSX

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone can give me some advice or tips about why my TIR 5 (proclip V5.2)
works fine with initial start up with FSX and runs smoothly until maybe FSX crashes to desktop (windows 8.1) or random visits in and out of Multiplayer sessions, it suddenly stops working!
All lights still working on sensor but no movement. So I have to restart FSX and Quit TIR to then have to reload Both programs again. Which is no actual garantee it will work again on start up. But eventually decides to work much to my annoyance and frustrsation to keep reloading FSX until it decides to work! Any ideas or solutions would be much appreciated.
Thank you very much.
Cheers,, Warhawk. :D

Warhawk,

It sounds to me like SimConnect is not releasing the TrackIR when it crashes and that causes TrackIR to not be available when it starts back up. When this happens I would suggest closing down both FSX and TrackIR before starting up again, even if it means stopping them in Task Manager. I'm not sure what would be causing the initial crash though.

Does it happen roughly around the same time into the game, or is it random?

Regards,

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the reply,, sorry my mistake which not sure would make a difference anyway but I'm running TIR 4 with trackclip pro, (not 5)
And yes it is random but again only when FSX C.T.D. or just loading in and out of different aircraft or scenarios and multiplayer sessions... and yes I do use task manager to quit FSX and TIR before restarting! lights still running but no movement!!
Thank you for trying.. any help would be great. I'll make do though because I enjoy using TIR but again this is frustrating.
Regards, Warhawk. :)
