No drivers installed

Just got my TrackIR unit. Downloaded latest 5.2.2 software and installed, but I get it coming up as a "unknown device" in Device Manager on my Windows 8.1 x64 PC. I tried several re-installs to know avail.

It seems to be the optional USB drivers are not installing. I notice that there is never a "C:\Program Files (x86)\NaturalPoint\USB Drivers x64\npusbio_x64" folder, so I can't even manually install the drivers even if I wanted to.

You helped someone else out with a similar problem...

...but you didn't detail the fix.

Any help welcome.

Best Regards, David.

David,

The first solution I would have you test is to unplug the camera, uninstall the software, uninstall the drivers, delete the installer and then reboot. Once rebooted, I want you to download an older version of the software and then right-click the installer and run as an administrator. I would suggest using this version to test the solution:

http://media.naturalpoint.com/software/ ... .Final.exe

If that doesn't resolve the problem, I ask that you create a ticket with me at help.naturalpoint.com.

Hi Mike,

Yeah, that worked.

After installing 5.1.3 I had a Drivers folder now. I manually tried to install the drivers through Device Manager and got the whole "unsigned driver" issue so I had to temporarily disable Windows from complaining but it all worked in the end.

Thanks very much for your help. Works great in X-Plane.

Cheers, David.

ozyPatto,

Glad to hear that it is working. I'll have to look into what is causing the problem.

Hi Mike

I am having the same problem. Would you mind telling me how to locate and delete the drivers? Apologies for asking such an obvious question. Detailed instructions would be most appreciated.

Also, I am using Windows 10 - and when I go to run the installer, it brings up a RUNDLL error - saying something like: there was a problem starting C:\Program The specified module could not be found. Can you throw any light on what this might be about?

Thanks

Simon

Further to my last post ... I see in the Uninstall a Program Section that there is an entry saying TrackIR5 - but no logo and no details and when I try to 'uninstall' - it gives the same message (mentioned in previous post) ... There was a problem starting c:\program ...

Hope this information is of some use.

Regards

Simon

Hello

I am having the same problem (drivers not installed) and wonder if you can please provide additional information (on uninstalling older drivers, etc.). For example, what is the location of the drivers - and are there any particular steps to be taken to ensure a complete uninstall.

Finally, I attempted to unistall trackir - but have been left with a 'remnant' entry in the programs list for uninstalling programs on Windows 10. I cannot make any change to the entry as when i attempt to do so, it bring up an error: "RunDLL - "There was a problem starting C:\Program The specified module could not be found." I wonder if you have any advice about if this is having an effect.

Thanks for your advice,

Regards

Simon
