Motive 1.8.0 failing to apply calibration after wanding

I have a Windows 8.1 PC to run my 6-camera Opti-track (Flex 3 cameras) system. I had 1.9.0 version of Motive installed on my computer which was able to give perfect calibration results but I had some communication issues with a client app with this version of Motive. I was recommended to go back one version, for which I tried to use 1.8.0 today.
After the downgrade, I tried to do calibration today (by wanding) - as soon as I press the Calculate button to finish the calibration, the capture volume shows on the preview and dialog box shows up pointing out the results of calibration (good, excellent, exceptional etc.). On proceeding to apply these results, I lose the preview that I was just getting, the calibration results are not applied and the markers don't show up anymore in Motive even I can see them individually in the camera windows.
The marker previews are on and this same process works fine in 1.9.0 for me. I was wondering if anybody else had similar problem and can point out the steps to rectify this issue for me?
(I'm using 1.8.0 x64 final version and have tried both beta1,beta2 with the same results)
