I've just bought a new Track IR 5 to replace an old one.

When using the hat-clip, the old TrackIR 5 used to have four glowing LEDs in a square when it was active. On the new one, there are only two red LEDs when using the hat clip.

Is this supposed to be the case?

I discovered the answer just after posting this...

It's a hardware change - newer models only have two.

I think its normal because mine just arrived today and I am int he same boat. I doubt both of ours are broken and showing 2 lights. So I assume 2 lights is the new norm

Yes the newer TrackIRs only have two internal LEDs. The ones you have received are not broken.
