I had this problem with FSX also but not to the degree I have now. For whatever reason, fresh boot or repeat session, after I open TrackIR and then open P3D, the TrackIR screen does not minimize and fails to connect to the simulator session. I can do a couple reboots and then it works as expected. I have already downloaded a fresh copy of 5.4.2 and reinstalled. That allowed it to work properly one time, now Im back to the hit and miss problem.

TrackIR 5.4.2.27545
FSX-SE
P3D-v3.4

All software is current with updates and patches installed.

RESOLVED

I run the sim as administrator and if I run TrackIR as administrator is seems to couple every time. Thanks Mike is support!
