Nascar Thunder 2004 Support?

Hi, there:
I've read in previous posts on various forums that TIR/TIR2 is supported in Nascar Thunder 2004.
Walking the .plr file, I see references to VFX freelook (I think I remembered it right), but nothing about TIR support.
If TIR (or even mouse/freelook) support is indeed available, how do I go about enabling it? Simply entering the game and driving away into the sunset doesn't seem to do the trick.
