I am about ready to purchase a SmartNAV AT package for my brother-in-law and have been looking around for info and best pricing. I have 2 questions;

We are purchasing an LCD Flat Panel monitor for him and I am wondering how the device will sit on top of the monitor since there is very little flat surface on top of the panel. Will it sit there or clip on somehow and if not does anybody know of any shelfs available for these types of monitors?

I have found a site called Ergo-Tech that is selling the SmartNAV for $167. Does anyone know if this is legit and is it the full and newest version of the product? If it's for real it's a heckuva price.

We get several inquiries as to how to attach the unit to a Flat Panel Display. The easiest way we have found is to go down to Radio Shack and get a package of Telephone Wire Clips. These are sold at 9 to the package for about $2.50 The clips are about 3/4" square and have a small clip on the top. This clip is just right to hold the feet of the Smart-NAV units. The large rubber feet are between 4.15 - 4.2 mm thick.

You can attach the unit using these clips in two ways. Mount the clips on the feet and stick them to the top edge of the Monitor right on top. No problem with this, I just don't like the aesthetics of it.

The second option is to mount the clips sideways and stick them to the back of the monitor. The way to do this is to position the stand so that if you are holding onto the tail of the base, it looks like a T. Now move the head of the unit so that it is looking over the top of the T. Position the unit so that the head of the unit is peering over the top of the monitor and look to see where the feet at the crossbar of the T are at. Remove the two large rubber feet from the base, and position the clips so that the tips of the base slide into them like going into a slot and then press the clips onto the back of the monitor.

I think this way looks more aesthetically pleasing to me, but use which ever way works best for you.
