just upgraded old nav to nav 3. From Second i put it in i noticed control improvement!! its worth money.

The smartnave trackhat.
In setting i notice there a choice between using dot or trackhat.
Is trackhat better for control?
why does hat require differnet option?
Isnt the the trackhat just a silver dot on the tip?
If making your own silver dot from the silver material, should you use trackhat option?
What happens if you use shape other that dot?

Is trackhat better for control?

Yes, the TrackHat will improve precsion by about a factor of 2x. The bill acts like a lever and amplifies your head movements.

why does hat require differnet option?

Our SmartNAV hat has a slightly larger dot than the normal circle dots, so the software needs to know what it is looking for as far as pixel size.

Isnt the the trackhat just a silver dot on the tip?

The TrackHat has the same reflective material as the normal dots, but it is slightly larger.

If making your own silver dot from the silver material, should you use trackhat option?

I would take one of the larger dots and put it on a hat and use the Trackhat options.

What happens if you use shape other than dot?

You can customize the 'preferred object size' setting to match the pixel size of the current dot.
