Cant get it to work...

Got my unit 2 weeks ago, it worked ok with 2.01 final software. This morning i used my recovery cd for my pc and now when i reinstall the software i get a error message at startup; "the software could not connect to the device, starting software without mouse control".
Yes I did disconnect the device before installing and No, the is no reported problem in usb settings in device manager. Any other things i could try?
