Looking down with TrackIR5 Software and TrackIR 4 Pro Hardware.

Recently got this as a gift from my grandfather who doesn't use it anymore. I asked him, and he said he had no issues whatsoever when using it. Whenever I try to look down past 6 Degrees raw, The software loses tracking and the three red dots no longer show as tracking. Trying to mess around with tuning and camera position to no avail, and don't understand what the issue is. Please help.
