I am new to TrackIR.
I am running FSX Acceleration in Win 7-64 and I believe I am using
the latest version of TrackIR 5 software > Ver 5.4.2.27545. My
hardware is Track Clip Pro.
Is there a preferred technique for shutting down the software ?
So far each time I attempt to end the software I get an error
message pop-up which necessitates a very ungraceful shutdown.
Also, frequently when I start the the software it does not open
in a normal window. It must be manually expanded so's I can
see whats happnin'. Is there a way to "fix" the startup window
size ?

Hi Ken,

I am unaware of this issue while closing the application. You are using the latest version of TrackIR software. Are you still running into any issues? Perhaps a full reinstall of the TrackIR software would solve the closing of the software.

The TrackIR software likes to dwell in the system tray when minimized. If the software is running then the only way to return the software to the screen is to right click on the icon in the system tray and select "Minimize/Maximize to tray."

Once you are in the application, you can change a couple settings that may help you out. On the top right corner of the app is a wrench symbol which will lead you to the TrackIR Application Options. Under here, I would deselect "Minimize To System Tray," "Automatically Minimize On TrackIR Enhanced Title Launch," and under Startup "Run Minimized."

These won't stop the application from staying in the taskbar tray, however they might be more suitable for you.
