Hi
Can anyone give any hands on experience of the changes with IR 2 over IR 1 in flight sims in particular?
Cheers

Would be much more interesting if a member of this forum could tell us about his personal impressions about TrackIR2 in comparison to TrackIR1...

No one here?

ok I bite. TrackIR2 just totally rools, dude. It rocks, it sparkles and it makes me smile. It does everything TrackIR1 can do for you and then it does some more. I don't really notice I'm using it at all, I'm simply 'in' the environment. I was often made aware of trackIR version 1, but trackir2 just totally disappears from my attention and I can fly and look around. Which is the whole point.

TrackIR2 is tons smoother than 1 and doesn't ever get lost in extreme angles. Because the refresh rate is higher in TrackIR2 there is no noticable frame rate drops when panning fast.

The upgrade from trackIR1 to TrackIR2 isn't a quantum leap like the change from no-trackIR -> my-first-trackIR, but it is a huge step upwards in quality and ease of use. The unit looks way cool too! Check the price also: despite all the extra updated improved functionality TrackIR2 is even cheaper than last years model was. I use the TrackIR2 in Enhanced mode when flying in IL-2Forgotten Battles: two excellent products perfect compliments to each other! Get a track hat if you can, its easier than putting a spot on yer head. and doesn't look so silly in the supermarket. Took all my pocket money to buy this unit, and I feel my purchase was indeed justified. Experience within the game is greatly improved.

So in conclusion my advice has to be, buy it and you'll probably enjoy using it.
