Hello,
I'm considering the purchase of the TrackIR2 but unfortunatly, there is not enough clearance between the top of my monitor and desk to mount the TrackIR2. Anyone have some advice on an alternative way to mount the TrackIR2 to my desk?
Thanks!

Thanks Charlie!
I can't really move the editing decks on the top back any further but might be able to slide the legs of the base under them. I guess I could also place it on the desk and point it up?
Thanks again...

You could place it on the desk and face it up like you pointed out.
In all reality, this would be the best place to put it if you could find a place to place the reflective dot. If you fly with a microphone headset, then the boom would be a perfect place for it.
Maybe your chin would work! I've never tried it that low before.

Well, how you mount the trackIR is not an issue as long as it can see the reflective dot to track movement.
From your picture, I would say that you could put it on the wood above your monitor. You could push those eletronics (DVD player or something or other) back slightly and put it there. Then just adjust the TrackIR to look down a little more than normal.
You could place it to the side of the monitor on one of the side shelves. Again, as long as the dot is visible to it..... this could be accomplished by putting the dot on a mic boom that is pointed in its direction.
Another solution is to place the TrackIR to either side of you. Personally I cannot do this because it would drive me absolutly NUTS to wear my TrackHAT sideways. Not my thing I guess!
You could also place it behind you on a shelf or stand and then use the TIR software to invert your X-Axis movement.
It is a very versitile peice of gear.
