TIR2 vs X45

TIR2 works flawlessly in IL2FB.
X-45 works flawlessly in IL2FB.
TIR2 + X-45 = NO JOY

As soon as I fire up the TIR2 software my X-45 (Controller 2) ceases functioning. It shows up in the control panel as "OK" but nothing works.
I'm running W2K SP4 on an ASUS Nforce1, AMD XP2400, 1GB ram.

I'm thinking this may be a power issue, so I've ordered a powered 4port hub which should show up in a week or so.

Anybody have a similar experience?

I have heard some ppl having problems with X36/x45 sticks because their USB hubs didn't provide enough power. Especially if more than one USB unit was attached to the same hub. I know that some noiced improved reliability after changing to powered hubs
